Our Hydrogen Journey So Far

3rd Nov 2023

In 2021, we partnered with Toyota and EODev to bring the GEH2 electro-hydrogen fuel cell generator into the Australian market to help introduce cleaner power generation solution alternatives to customers.

In the past two years, Blue Diamond Machinery (BDM) has taken the lead in supporting its customers with sustainable, environmentally conscious projects across Australia.

Here are some of our greatest achievements, partnerships, and trials to date:

Blue Diamond's Live Demonstration of the GEH2

As a team, we hosted our first live demonstration of the GEH2 for our key customers and industry figures at the BDM warehouse in Perth. The turn out included representatives from FFI, FMG, BHP, Rio Tinto, and more.

During the event, our GEH2 electro-hydrogen generator was successfully recharging several BDM equipment, including our POWR2 POWERBANK and an Impulse Electric Pump.

We were able to educate and show our customers the benefits of the GEH2 as a clean energy solution to replace conventional gensets.

GEH2 Lights Up Marvel Stadium

In July 2022,  the GEH2 hydrogen generator lit up Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium.

The EODev’s GEH2 generator combines hydrogen technology with a Toyota fuel cell to produce instant, clean power to the external Marvel sign of the stadium as well as the Western Bulldogs’ coaches’ box.

Only 10-15% of the 80 kW capacity was needed to light up the Marvel sign and coaches box for around seven hours.

Sydney Water Trials the GEH2

In 2023, Sydney Water and construction partner John Holland announced they are working with BDM with a 28 day trial of the GEH2. The electro-hydrogen generator will power the construction of the $1.2B Upper South Creek Advanced Water Recycling Centre (AWRC) at Kemps Creek.

The Santos Demonstration

The BDM team made their way to Cooper Basin in South Australia to perform a demonstration of the GEH2 hydrogen generator.

Santos, one of Australia's leading gas and oil producers were looking for a low emission option to charge their on-site buggies to travel around their large-scale facility.

Powering the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix

In March 2023, BDM worked with the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix to show off the benefits of the GEH2 during the four day event.

BDM supplied 2 x GEH2 electro-hydrogen generators to power up the event's Tech Hub, including all entertainment, interactive, food stalls and demonstration experiences.
