Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is a Mobile Dewatering Pump?
A mobile dewatering pump is designed to move large amounts of water from a source to another place. This might be to drain groundwater level when digging during construction, civil or mining works requiring dewatering and water management operations. There a two types: diesel driven or with an electric motor.
-
How Do Mobile Dewatering Pumps Work?
The pump works via a diesel engine or electric motor. Once the pump is safely connected to a well point, it’s ready to go. When the engine starts, the pump will turn on to activate a vacuum via the header pipe and will begin to drain the groundwater level. Impulse mobile water pumps also feature a screw impeller to allow more solids to pass through – ideal for sewer bypass projects. Water pumps often need to be run 24 hours a day to ensure continuous water management without the need to disrupt the project works.
