What's The Difference Between Prime And Standby Power?

Prime power generators act as the main source of power for equipment and machinery for construction, mining and industrial applications. They’re designed to run for extended periods of time, in some cases 24/7. On the other hand, standby generators are specifically designed as a backup power source for equipment and vital operations in the case of a power outage. Particularly with emergency services, agricultural and event operations. They tend to only run for a few hours until mains power is restored. If paired with an ATS switch, the generator will disconnect once power is back online.
